2 weeks in Thailand

Not a Best Of, just my itinerary.

Bangkok

• Stay at The Yard Hostel.
• There’s a decent Neapolitan pizzeria next door at Kenny’s BKK.
• Buy everything from Uniqlo at CentralWorld. Or Decathlon on Rama 4.
• Eat Ramen at Mensho.
• Soak in the warm baths of Yunomori Onsen & Spa.
• Eat a pain au chocolat at Nine Pastry.

Pai

• Stay at Buzzas hostel. Chill but social, with a nice pool and lounge area.
• Rent a motorcyle anywhere.
• Soak at the Tha Pai Hot Springs. Each cascading pool is 1°C hotter than the next.
• Watch the sunset at Two Huts cafe. Go early to grab a hammock.
• Eat dinner at Na’s Kitchen. There’s usually a line.
• Listen to live music at Jazz House. Mostly rock cover bands. The host looks like Jesus and often sings along.

Chiang Mai

• Stay at Evergreen Cafe & Hotel.
• Visit the Karen Hilltribe Elephant Sanctuary. They have the most adorable 1-year old baby elephant!
• Have lunch at Fern Forest Cafe.

Khao Sok National Park

• Stay at Khao Sok Rainforest Resort. Enjoy the pool.
• Eat a pizza at Chao.
• Book an overnight tour with Coco Hostel. Sleep in a floating bungalow on the lake. Maybe bring a weed cookie to share under the stars.

Khao Lak

The diving wasn’t great that day, and in retrospect I wish I would have spent more time in Railay. But if you do go

• Stay at Nautical Home Bed & Breakfast. The owner Nat is an absolute gem.
• Dive with Wetzone Divers. Make sure either the manta rays or whale sharks are in peak season.
• Eat at Pinocchio or ThaiLife.
• Eat ice cream at Gelato 39

Railay

• If you can, stay on the North side of Railay Beach. Reserve way ahead.
• Railay Beach Club has the best location.
• I stayed at Bhu Nga Thani Resort. Loved their pool.
• I hear Blanco or Hilltop are good affordable options if you don’t mind a lot of stairs.
• Eat at Local Thai Food Restaurant

Koh Lanta

• The best beach is Khlong Chak. Rent a scooter and go there.
• I would have stayed at Anda Lanta Resort if I could.
• Stay at Blanco Hostel or AHA Lanta if you want a social dorm.
• Whatever you do, eat at Loro Loco. The quality of their Neapolitan pizzas is incomprehensible.
• Some other nice cafes include Hidden Tree, Sabai Sabai Viewpoint, and Galapagos.
• I heard good things about Tuesday Morning, Three Sisters, and Mem’s.
• Richey is a nice beach bar with live music on Thursdays and Sundays.
